The reviews for Ninja Gaiden II are in and thus far they paint the game as a solid action affair, though it doesn’t come without its share of problems (and some mentioned in every review we scoured was the camera, which Eurogamer declares “awful - really, speechlessly awful.” Still, while the reviews scrape together a pile of negatives — poor plot, annoying camera, occasionally cheap bosses, steep difficulty — they all agree that Ninja Gaiden II excels at what it does best, action.

  • IGN (8.7/10): “It’s challenging and rewarding. It looks great in motion and it feels great to know you’re the one at the helm, directing this bloody dance. It has its foibles and doesn’t feel as rich as the last Ninja Gaiden, but this sequel still offers up a great ride.
  • 1UP (B-): “[The camera] drags along behind you like a wounded dog and wanders off on its own when you need it most. When fighting multiple enemies that are more than a sword’s length away, it’s a chore to constantly pull the right trigger (which forces the camera to face the same way as Ryu). When those enemies come armed with unblockable projectiles, it becomes damn annoying.”
  • Eurogamer (7/10): “NG2 doesn’t even need a map to guide you around, because the section you’re looking for is clearly signposted by the absence of blood, gore and limbless torsos, which are strewn and caked all over everywhere you’ve been.”
  • Team Xbox (9/10): “One thing you won’t hear us complain about with Ninja Gaiden II is the difficulty. This is a tough game. Deal with it, or go play Devil May Cry.”

The videogame version of the Score internationals Baja 1000 desert race promises to give gamers a chance to participate in blistering, sun-drenched endurance races without ever leaving their climate-controlled living rooms.

According to Activision, the game features:

Over 90 vehicles across multiple classes… including trophy trucks, class I, motorcycles, ATVs and more – the game challenges players to not only be first across the finish line, but also keep their machine intact! Hyper-realistic dirt and damage modeling in the game means players need to be crazy enough to take chances, but not so reckless that their vehicle is destroyed before the race is over.

Developed by Left Field Productions, the game will be available this fall for the PlayStation 2, Playstation 3 , Xbox 360, Wii and PC. There’s a single, lonely screenshot over on G4tv.

f9754_633475776648268383 Look out Don King, Its Bootsy, Baby!Funky funk legend Bootsy Collins (P-Funk, James Brown, Deee-Lite) recently produced an exclusive, original theme song for 2K Sports’ Don King Presents: Prizefighter, due in stores June 10.

Over 70 songs appear on the soundtrack, either in their entirety or in shortened ring walk versions, from Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” to Run-D.M.C.’s “It’s Tricky,” James Brown’s “Turn Me Loose, I’m Doctor Feelgood” to Parliament’s “Give Up the Funk.”

Doing the game track was very exciting,” Collins tells billboard.com. “It’s for Don King, a hero of mine from way back, so I took it very personal when asked to get involved. I felt musically and vocally that this song would place you right in the middle of the game, in a front row seat. I told Mr. King, ‘We gonna punch um! Just to make their hair stand straight. Then punch um again, to see the look on their face!’

Don King Presents: Prizefighter will be available for Xbox 360, and later this year on the Wii and Nintendo DS systems.
