Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi presented the newest trailer for his upcoming survival horror adventure, a game partially set in the shanty towns of an unnamed African locale, at Capcom’s recent Captivate 08 media event. Following the trailer, one that reveals protagonist Chris Redfield’s newest partner, a mysterious woman who we’re going to refer to as Sheva, just for kicks, Takeuchi fired up our first look at a playable Resident Evil 5. Set in the village showcased in the game’s original trailer, Capcom’s Masachika Kawata—producer of Resident Evil 4 Wii and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles—guided us through a quick gameplay demonstration.

Who knew that combining little plastic blocks with blockbuster movie trilogies could prove so charming? LucasArts and Traveller’s Tales captured lighting in a bottle with the Lego Star Wars series of games, with the lighthearted take on some of the most icon characters and stories in science fiction history capturing the hearts of fans both young and old alike. So charmed were both gamers and the gaming press that they almost - almost forgave Lucas for Jar Jar.
Now the two companies have teamed up again to give the classic Indiana Jones trilogy the tiny toy treatment in the hopes of recapturing the magic and wonder of the first two outings. Have they unearthed yet another treasure, or are they up to their waist in a pit full of snakes? Throw me the whip, and I’ll throw you the review roundup.

Prince of Persia is getting a make over, one that not only gives the Prince a new look but breaks from the storyline that linked the franchise’s trilogy so close together.
The new Prince of Persia, we were told at a press event earlier this month, will be totally separate from the Sands of Time trilogy and will feature a prince, not the prince.
“There were hundreds of tails in Arabian Nights and this is just one of them,” Ben Mattes, the game’s producer said.
Instead the game is set in an “ancient fantasy Persia” and while it will continue to have some of the Prince of Persia’s pillars of play like acrobatic combat and movement, it will also lift some of the things that worked best in Assassin’s Creed.
